HPT Podcast - Episode 1: Intro and Interview with John Hart, HU Practitioner

Here I share an introduction to the podcast and the things we plan on covering.

Next up is an interview with John Hart, a Human Performance Practitioner from Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Plant in California. John and I caught up in Arizona in the last week of May for a Human Performance Workshop with the STARS fleet plant Human Performance leads at each site.

John candidly describes why he got into this career and shares some personal views and stories of his past. He has great story-telling ability, and I hope you're as drawn into them as I get. John explains that it's important to find the "Reset Button."

Interview with Ryan, a high stakes blackjack casino dealer. Ryan and I discuss possible mistakes to avoid while dealing and the amount of training dealers get before they can get licensed and work on the floor. Ryan has a lot of confidence in his abilities and was very forthcoming with things he has to pay attention to, and the amount of personal style dealers are permitted to have (it isn't very much).

Dana has been in the Human Performance and Root Cause business for many years and has a lot to share with us.

HPT Podcast - Episode 4: Interview with Dave, Pharmaceutical Safety Assessment

A dear friend of mine, Dave, and I got together for a little while to have a Skype conversation on about some important work he performs in the pharmaceutical drug design industry. He answers questions with respect and really made me feel like a student by truly caring about my understanding of the subject material. True to his abilty, he uses analogies and examples to include laypeople into the conversation. I really appreciate how he makes extra effort to make this very difficult topic accessible for myself and listeners. Dave talks about preventing events and safety concerns. Locks (receptors on cells - a.k.a. targets) and keys (molecules, or compounds for testing).

I've been talking about this with all of my industry buddies, and I'm very proud to be able to present to you the wonderful and passionate speech Kevin gave us at the INPO Human Performance Conference this past September in Baltimore, Maryland. When you hear me talk about "Affective" learning, understand that I feel this speech is a great example of "Affective" teaching.
